December Dinner Club

Okay...here it is. Your official invite to the December dinner club, AND the first post on our dinner club blog since who knows when. I'll try to get better about that. I mean really, what else do I have to do with my time? Anywho here are the dets for dinner:

When: New Year's Eve (that's December 31st)
Where: Casa Miller
Time: Come around six.
Theme: Appetizers. Yes, appetizers. Everyone bring one and we'll snack all night. Did you hear that Heidi and Jessi? For this night only, you have been authorized to bring appetizers!! Hooray!!
Who: This is a family affair so bring your baby if you've got one.
RSVP: By commenting on this link.

I have a few bottles of champagne left over from last weekend but a few more never hurt anyone (well, come to think of it that is NOT an accurate statement...). Hope you can make it to count down 2010 with Dick Clark or whatever drunk yahoos are hosting the King 5 special. See you then!!!

MAJADE IS ON ITS WAY!!!!

Okay 3 weeks from tomorrow is Majade. It's not like we need that much time to plan, but some people like to be prepared. Of course you all have other things on your minds but let's start thinking of what to have for dinner for Majade. Clearly it will be Japanese food for dinner. So....
Rice? Sushi? Teriyaki chicken? That's pretty much all I got. How should we do this? Everyone sign up to do a dish and let us all know what it is or list appetizers, main dish, dessert....I don't know. It is Megan's birthday dinner so technically we shouldn't let her cook but I know she likes to so we'll leave it up to her. Oh and we have a few game ideas. Start saving your toilet paper rolls. So tell me girls...what's for dinner?

THEME IDEAS

Let's generate some ideas for our monthly dinner club. I just saw a commercial that looks like a good idea...Weekend in New England. How about a good old fashioned clam bake? Clam chowder, crab cakes.... What are some other ideas? I guess the person who hosts could come up with a theme but maybe it would make it easier if we generated a few to begin with. Some of the ideas that Sarah and her gang had:
It's Always Sunny in Philidelpha--watch the show, have Philly cheesesteaks
Oink Oink-pulled pork sandwiches
Gobble Gobble-twist on traditional thanksgiving recipes
My Big Fat Greek Wedding

What are some of your ideas???

Got the Green Light

Our first official Thursday night dinner club will be at my house (Lisa) on Thursday, September 24th at 6:30 PM. Theme: "I survived a Japanese Gameshow" or as Megan likes to say "MAJIDE"!!! Coincidentally this will be Megan's birthday dinner so lets make it a crowd. As always, husbands, wives, kids, friends, etc. are welcome. So be prepared to bring your favorite Japanese dish, a little Sake, and a your velcro pantsuit. I'll send out an evite closer to the day.

MAJIDE!!!

Dinner Club Anyone??

Every time we get together we say "we need to do this more often". So let's do it. Some of our favorite get togethers are just the dinner at home variety so why not make it official. After some discussion Heidi, Becca, Megan and I decided we should do it on the 3rd Thursday of the month and we'd have a rotating schedule. The person who hosts supplies the main course and then someone can bring an appetizer, someone can bring a side dish and someone can bring dessert all based around the theme for the month. Everyone can byob and we can adjust as necessary for the size of the group. My friend Sarah does this monthly as well and her group has laid some ground rules that seem to have helped keep it going. Hopefully we can set some things up to help it along as well. So guys....what do you say?
